What is a Temperature-Pressure Relief Valve and Why Is It Important? It immediately lowers the pressure inside the tank in case the temperature rises beyond a certain point. It will allow the water from the heater to escape so that it doesn’t build too much pressure in the tankless water heater. This way, the heater would automatically adjust its system back to normal once the extra pressure and the water has been relieved.
